Unique Film Opportunities

G.I. Film Festival GIFF is a great new opportunity that offers veterans a chance to share their stories. By submitting to this festival or sharing it, new voices will be heard. GIFF will be held in Washington D.C. in April, 2017. GIFF is also currently offering sponsorship opportunities. "The GIFF presents films from new and established international and domestic filmmakers that honor the heroic stories of the American Armed Forces and the worldwide struggle for freedom and liberty.  Some of the films screened are voted on by fans.  Others are screened for the first time.  All will in some way express the courage and selflessness of our fighting men and women and the value of their work." Asian World Film Festival Asian World Film Festival is a festival that encourages Asian voices in film. American Red Cross: Santa Barbara

A day trip to Santa Barbara's Red Cross made me realize and understand the involvement of Red Cross members and volunteers.                    Jessica Piffero is the head communications leader of Red Cross for the Central Valley. She explained to me the joy of being a part of Red Cross and giving back. By volunteering for the Red Cross, you can simply meet other people, understand non-profits better, and realize more ways to give back to your community.         We had a great opportunity to interview Maureen White, a volunteer during World War II. Maureen gave us some insight from her volunteer experience. Since it is Red Cross's 100th anniversary, it is special to me that I got to be a part of commemorating the service by creating a video that exemplifies Red Cross's goal.

Old Town Waffles

(photo by Carole Grosch )            Old Town Waffle is located in Clovis, California. Last year I came to Old Town Waffle with my grandmother and my mother. I got the fresh garden omelet which was very delicious—I now get it every time I go. Every time I have gone it has been delicious and the employees are very helpful. My grandma and mother love going as much as I do.             It's a special place that is in the pit of Old Town Clovis. It's always nice to have a place that is only available in your hometown. If you're ever hungry and do not know where to go, go to Old Town Waffle!
